Optimizer Overview
The AT&T Optimizer is a tool that facilitates the changing of key settings on your computer Internet Explorer, and Firefox browser configurations, in order to “optimize” the web surfing experience of the AT&T Service. Additionally, the AT&T Optimizer will make key short cuts for the AT&T service available on your desktop and by configuring your home page setting and making favorites. The AT&T Optimizer is usually installed during the installation and provisioning process by the Installer. If it wasn’t downloaded or installed during your installation, it can be downloaded by following the step by steps.

The "Optimizer" does the following tasks to Optimize the performance of your computer using AT&T High Speed Internet powered by WildBlue. These optimizations are specific to Internet Explorer and Firefox. All are reversible if you decide you don't want them at a later date.
This Optimizer only optimizes Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.

- It sets the home page in Internet Explorer to the AT&T Yahoo! registration page to complete service provisioning.
- It adds a "ATT Satellite Internet" entry into the Programs Menu. This entry allows you to
- Execute the "ipconfig" program
- Execute the Optimizer again
- Check to see if you are Optimized. Are you using the WildBlue proxy?
- It places two shortcuts on your desktop
- Shortcut to AT&T Yahoo!
- Shortcut to attwb.net support site.
- It adds two favorites to Internet Explorer in an ATT Satellite Internet folder

- attwb.net support site
- It sets the home page for Firefox to to AT&T Yahoo!
- For Internet Explorer it sets the following items to optimize performance.
- MaxConnectionsPerServer to 10.
- Enables http 1.1.
- Enables http 1.1 through proxies.
- Sets the Internet Explorer Local Area (LAN) Settings to "Automatically detect settings".
- Sets the Internet Explorer Local Area (LAN) Settings to "Use automatic configuration script" and sets the Address to http://wpad.wildblue.com/wpad.dat.
- For Mozilla Firefox it sets defaults in the Firefox install directory to optimize performance:
- Max connections per server to 10.
- Max persistent connections per server to 4.
- Pipelining to true.
- Proxy pipelining to true.
- Network proxy type to 2, "Automatic proxy configuration URL", and set the address to http://wpad.wildblue.com/wpad.dat.
This Optimizer only optimizes Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.
